The Red Bird
Each rope basket is carefully handmade on my sewing machine. Using natural, unbleached cotton cord sourced from a Canadian Manf here in Ontario. Tags and buttons are stitched on by hand on each piece. My intent is to create functional decor for the home that has purpose and is useful in everyday life.
For the stained glass pieces I use the copper foil method. I first draw or trace my pattern on the glass and then cut each section. Once all the pieces are cut I use the grinder to smooth out the edges. This allows the foil to adhere better. Next, once all the pieces are foiled it’s soldering time! After that the piece is cleaned and patina applied and cleaned again. The last step is applying the polish to seal it all in. This will get buffed off after sitting overnight. It’s like a puzzle with so many steps and then finally a finished product!

All our prints are created by hand using carved wooden blocks - no screens, no machinery. Each design is engraved onto a piece of wood, dipped into natural dye, and then carefully stamped onto the fabric, a process known as BLOCK PRINTING. This is an ancient Indian technique, and every Aakriti by MK product is 100% handmade.

I am a multi-media artist and book author and my work is inspired by nature. I sell one-of-a-kind hand-casted pots made from concrete or papercrete, often casted with metal, wood, stones and other nature-derived materials like flowers, leaves and cones. The pots resemble weathered stones, rocks and old castle walls and come with plants that are easy to care for (succulents, cacti, bonsai, ivy etc.). Some pots are stands for dried natural flowers or air plants.

I create jewelry and accessories using only beach glass that I collect myself from local Lake Erie beaches. I never change the shape of the glass I find to keep the authenticity, all I do is clean it, drill holes, and add mineral oil to make it shine like when you find it in the water! Norfolk County has an incredible music scene- from the Band to the present. So much talent, so many memories, so many discarded strings! Upcycling strings into wearable pieces of art seemed a natural thing as I have so many connections in the music industry. Each piece is uniquely crafted and gather interest whenever somebody wears one. Using one of a kind beads and embellishments, mixed with strings and various gauges of wires are statements. The strings are cleaned and come from pet and smoke free environments. I also create individual themed earrings- ranging from pride, yoga, chakra colours, music, hobbies, pets, flowers- they are great for mixing and matching for a fun look.

We keep our recpies simple - a maximum of six ingredients. We then bake and dehydrate our cookies so they arre shelf stable for a minimum of 6 months. Our cookies have been laboratory tested for guaranteed analysis as well as shelf life, so if you are monitoring your dog's fat or protein intake, that information is accurate and displayed on each bag.

My crowns and accessories are handmade by myself using a permanently coloured copper wire they come in a spool and this is what I create to help people bring their fairytale to life. I use mainly preciosa crystal beads but I love sparkle and all the chains I use for the necklaces and earring studs are stainless steel. Feel free to try on, they aren’t as delicate as they look. They’re meant to be worn.

These treats are ideal for pets needing to lose weight, pets with lots of allergies, owners who want to ensure they are supplying their pet with a healthy option, or just pets who love treats!
Fractured China Jewelry
I choose vintage dishware from thift stores, auctions and donations. Carefully I cut with a saw or wheeled nippers the design I like, then grind/sand the shape down to make it smooth. Then I either set into a premade stainless steel bezel or soft solder with a lead free mix (silver/tin/copper). Dishware has subtle curves, varied thicknesses, crazing or small scratches which simply makes it truly one of a kind. It also makes it delicate so not wearing it in water is very important. A pendant will come with a stainless steel chain (varied lengths from 18" to 20") and some are gold plated stainless steel.
