About The Barntique

The Barntique was born from a dream that started long before our barn doors ever opened.

Before this space existed, I was a maker myself, creating and selling under the name The Rustic Feather. I spent years attending craft shows, packing and unpacking products, and experiencing firsthand both the joy and the challenges of selling handmade goods. Along the way, I also had the opportunity to be part of other retail spaces, some wonderful, and others that left me wishing there was something better for makers like myself.

That’s where the idea for The Barntique began.

Standing on our farm one day, I looked at our old barn and saw more than just a building, I saw potential. A place where artisans could feel supported, where their work would be valued, and where customers could truly experience the beauty and heart behind Canadian handmade products.

In 2019, with a leap of faith and a whole lot of determination, we decided to jump in with both feet and bring that vision to life.

What started as a small idea has grown into something incredibly special. Today, The Barntique is a thriving, highly sought-after artisan boutique, proudly showcasing a carefully curated collection of Canadian makers. Each piece you’ll find here tells a story, crafted with passion, creativity, and care.

But The Barntique is more than just a shop, it’s part of our home.

Nestled on our family farm, this space is built around the life we love. My husband and I, along with our three children and two grandchildren, are deeply rooted in this journey. You’ll often find our chickens wandering nearby, our dogs greeting visitors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects who we are at our core.

We believe in community, in supporting local, and in creating a space where both makers and visitors feel inspired and connected.
